DENDROBAENA/RED WRIGGLER & TIGER WORMS, FISHING LIVE BAIT / COMPOSTING / REPTILE FOOD
We have owned this farm in Leicestershire for over 20 years and predomidently produce worms for our own raised beds and for friends who fish compeetitavely. They get fed what we call our OLYIMPIC LUNCH, which is aa blend of all the best vitimins and minerals to produce our OLYMPIC WORMS.
They might be a penny or two more expenssive than others, but we have as many as a million living in our barn, so its my hobby, taken serioously with due care and attention to their welfare. We have airconditioning and underfloor heating to ensure they never get cold or too hot. Now their uses....
FISHING - Dendrobaena worms are arguably the best worm for fishing, As anglers will say you will always catch on worms even on the hardest of days!
COMPOSTING - Dendrobaena worms are a great way to rid of any kitchen waste turning it in to an amazing organic compost "Vermi-Compost" or "Worm Tea" fertiliser! Worm Tea is a natural liquid fertilizer made from soaking worm castings [Worm manure] in water, As the worms digest the organic material, they produce castings filled with nutrients and beneficial microbes. Steeping these castings in water overnight creates a worm tea that helps boost plant growth!
REPTILE FOOD - Dendrobaena worm can also be used as reptile food / treats!
WEIGHT/VOLUME - Our worms are only fed on organic waste from our organic farm. so on average they weigh 1.5 grams, so expect approximately 100 prime adult worms per 150g..
CULTIVATION & HARVESTING - Our worms live in new wheelie bins addapted to allow up to 15,000 of them living in a bin. They will come to you in a breaathable bag from the same bin with some of their bedding and food. This means they dont need to be refrigerated if kept warm amd moist and fed. You could even start your own wom bin using this starter batch.
POSTAGE - Sorry but collection only.
RETURNS - Unattended the worms have a lfe span of just 7 days. They breathe through their skins, so need to be kept moist to survive. It woud be futile to return dead worms. Please contact us if you have any questions and we will refund or replace if somethng has gone wrong out of your control.
PLEASE NOTE - These are living creatures and take a few days to aclimatize and get back to normal. They will try to escape at every opporunity, so if they are put into a container they need air, water and food. Fruit and vegetable trimmings or damp shredded papaer is fine. No meat products! They consume their weight in food per day when breeding, so thats 150g per day. Contrary to common beleifs, please dont refrifgerate them
